This is what a wrestling training looks like

A workout usually starts with an intensive warm-up, in which you work on mobility, strength and coordination. Then you start working on techniques such as grips, takeovers, ankle locks or takedowns. Many exercises are performed with a partner, so that you learn to react and anticipate real resistance.

The training is physically demanding, but technically structured. You work at your own pace, under the guidance of a coach who guides you step by step. Often, we work in blocks of technique, drills and light sparring sessions (live wrestling), so that you can develop yourself safely and effectively - whether you are doing recreational sports or working towards competition.

What do you need to start wrestling?

For the first lessons you don't really need much. A sports shirt and sturdy shorts are sufficient in most cases. Because there is a lot of physical contact, many wrestlers train barefoot or with wrestling shoes for extra grip. Protection such as a mouthguard or knee pads can be useful for more intensive sessions.

If you train fanatically or want to compete, a special wrestling suit (singlet) is often desired.
